Health Care Professional Training Programs

Please contact csfv@lvh.com to schedule your practice training.

Every Smoker, Every Time
All programs:

  • Provide education and skill building to empower health care providers to give brief, effective cessation advice to tobacco users
  • Provide information on methods to prevent youth from starting to use tobacco
  • Tailored to meet the needs of speciality subgroup populations
  • Conducted on-site, at the convenience of the staff; support materials are included.

This one hour training program for physicians, dentists, nurses and allied health professionals on how to intervene with their patients who use tobacco and help them quit.

The philosophy of Every Smoker, Every Time is that every interaction with a tobacco user is an opportunity to discuss cessation. This approach can be used by ALL health care providers.

PHYSICIANS
More than 70% of all smokers visit their physician at least once a year, giving the physician and staff access to more smokers than any other qualified group or individual.

DENTISTS
More than one-fourth of dental patients use tobacco. Another one-fourth are children who should be counseled by their health care provider.

NURSES AND ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONALS
Providing information, motivation and support to tobacco users to initiate and maintain a cessation program is a key point to a successful cessation plan.

PSNA & CME continuing education credits offered.
